Houston, We've got a problem.

it's my skin!   what has happened to me?! when i was in high school and college i had GREAT skin.  rarely had pimples or any skin problems at all.  i stayed out late and never washed my make up off before bed, i showered in the morning, so i slept with nasty make up face and dirty hair.  but some how my face was clear.  then i got pregnant and it progressively has gotten worse.  i thought once i had caroline and was back to normal it would clear up, but it still hasn't.  i've tried

for a good solid couple of months.  i used it in high school some and really liked it.  so i tried it again.  and no success.  i was bummed that it wasn't getting better so then i started just using

it works wonders on my sister, annie's, skin.  so i tried it for morning and night and then i would also use
at night.  i thought i needed a scrub for my pores, but no luck here.  so then my mom told me i had to use this other stuff because she swears by it! so i tried it....
and again no luck.  i tried it for three almost four weeks.  i just wasn't changing anything.  i have more clogged pores and black heads than i've ever had.  i'm getting more and more pimples and i just hate it.  i've switched back to bare escentuals make up and still no change.  my husband keeps saying just try
and i won't listen to him. he had really really bad acne in high school and proactiv helped him some.  but his was so bad he had to take accutane.  now he has beautiful skin.  well now that i'm all broken out again, i've finally cracked and bought proactiv.  i'm waiting for it in the mail, but my sister, abbie, had some. so i started last night.  i washed my face, then toner.  i had to wait for it to dry before i put the repairing lotion on.  i told kylie, i hate this, it burns, i want to quit.  but i am going to try it.  apparently i will see results by day two.  so we'll see.  i'm really hoping so.  i'm avoiding a dermatologist at all costs.  i'm thinking it's just hormones but now they are normal again, so i think i just have bad skin.  please proactiv....work for me.

I have had acne problems for years, never as a teenager, not until I was an adult and Proactiv is the ONLY thing that worked for me. I don't use it anymore but have been thinking about getting it again! It does work! Stick with it. My daughter couldn't use it because anything with peroxide in it made her skin worse.

Girl go to your derm and get Retin-A prescrip. I had no probs during HS either then hit 25 and broke out like a teen going through puberty. So I tried proactive (burned & irritated my skin so bad it was red all the time), chemical peels, dermabrasion, all the over the counter goop, and finally went to the derm. She gave me a topical anitbiotic and retin-A. Oh. My. Lord. It not only stopped my acne but took care of all the scars that the old acne left behind. If I miss a week my skin lets me know realy quick but I've got the face of a pre-teen now (im 30).
HOpe this helps ya!

Oh Mag, just go see Dr. Lee. He's in Decatur, and he's awesome. He helped me, and I had some serious issues (refer to the Disney pics if you've forgotten)! Feeling confident and beautiful in your own skin is worth every penny!

I used Proactiv and it worked! If you start feeling like your skin is too dry or if it starts peeling, then try their body wash. It uses a different chemical so it won't bleach your clothes, but it also is less "drying" on your skin (oh yeah...beware of wiping your hands on colored towels while using this stuff LOL...I couldn't figure out why my towels were getting permanent handprints on them....

I wish i'd seen this post sooner lol. I <3 skin care. I don't really like proactiv because it really is too drying. Unless it's severe i don't think it should be used. I really like Loreal's new face wash, the one w/the little face scrubber, also you need a good moisturizer. Also, if you want you can do a deep cleansing mask once or twice a week (depending on how fast you want the breakout to clear) and that should help you a great deal. I really like Queen Helene's mask, the mint julep one i think it's called... you could buy it at a drug store for really cheap... ok ok /end ramble.
